I have an A. O. Smith Corp. pool motor that I need to replace, but I am confused by the information on your Web Site. The motor I have is a UAC C48K2PM100 - 230 Volt - 3450 RPM - FR 48Y on an in-ground pool. The only in-ground types are FR 56. Can you tell me which motor you have that will replace this type?

I have a LA Spa. Several weeks ago the 'A' pump began making a different sound while running during the automatic cycle. We thought the different pitch was because we removed one of the side panels to hard pipe make-up water. The 'A' pump stopped running several days ago. We have seen the follwing: (a) On 'automatic' (economy) there would be an approximately 3 second humming sound when the motor would try to start up and then it would shut down. During the time that the timer was programmed to keep the "A' pump running the motor would attempt to come one once every 3-5 minutes. I assume this means that the motor is receiving electricity. (b) I removed the pump and motor from the spa and then removed the pump from the motor. Disassembly of the pump reveals no warped or broken parts nor is the O-ring bad. The only wear I could identify was a slight amount in the throat of the discharge neck. (c) There are no apparent scorch marks on the exterior case of the motor. I have been unable to force the shaft to rotate. At this point I am assuming that my motor has failed. Do you agree? Are there any other things I should take a look at? I want to troubleshoot this problem right the first time and repair it only once. (2) I don't see the model I appear to have in your list of available models. I've been looking over the complete pump packages that you have but I need advice on which one would be best for MY needs, (minimum cost, high efficiency). The tub I'm thinking about will be a basic wood ring the size I still have to figure out too. One that will fit at least four people maybe even as many as eight.
